M. Kathy Turner, 52, of Meredosia, died Monday, December 12, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Chapin. She was born April 26, 1953, in Beardstown, the daughter of George and Betty Louise Newberry. She married Ernest H. "Ernie" Turner on May 26, 1972, in Jacksonville, and he survives. She is also survived by five sons, Raymond (wife, Beth) Turner of Concord, Russell Turner of Meredosia, Henry "Hank" (wife, Leann) Turner of Chambersburg, Chris (wife, Michelle) Fisher of Honeywell, Missouri, and Grover (wife, Teresa) Pruett of Meredosia; one daughter, Heather (companion, Heather Baker) Turner of Meredosia, thirteen grandchildren, Zackerie Millikan Turner, Regan Corder, Russell Corder, Daylon Cooper, Andy Cooper, Ray Turner, Jr., Cody Turner, Sarah Pruett, Ethan Pruett, Sammy Pruett, Tyler Smith, Nichole Smith, and Camey Jo Fisher; two brothers, Bill (wife, Joann) Hovendon of Beardstown and Don (wife, Rita) Knowles of Fishhook; and three sisters, Goldie (husband, Bill) Chestnut of Rushville, Dorothy Schroeder of Dixon, and Shawny Atwood of Beardstown. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina. Mrs. Turner was employed at Hertzberg-New Method Book Bindery in Jacksonville. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and collecting porcelain dolls and angels. Known as a "hugger," time spent with family and friends was most important to her. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2005, at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Louis Children's Hospital or the family.
