Arthur married Francis Seville Bateman on May 9, 1900. They lived in Prairieburg, IA for a few years. Later they moved to Minnesota where he and his brother Clyde acquired land and founded the town of Arthyde (a combination of the brothers' first names). Later they moved to Hillman, Minn. In 1921 they moved back to Central City, where he was employed by the Farmers' Cooperative Exchange for 20 years. They had 7 children: Harry, Leone, Paul, Lewis, Lois, Persis and Joy (who died in infancy). Francis died on Dec 8, 1946 and Arthur moved to Grayland, Washington where he resided until his death on May 18, 1960. Both are buried in Mt Clark Cemetery, Central City.
