Perry St. John was born December 12, 1860, at Maryville, Wisconsin, the son of Jacob and Ann St. John. He received a fair education there and in the spring of 1884 went to Alma, Nebraska. It was there he met Miss Cora Longley and on April 12, 1885, they were united in marriage. They lived there several years and then moved to Algona where he has lived since. Mrs. St. John preceded him in death one year and a few days.
To this union were born seven children, five of whom survive: Austin of Chicago; Mrs. Laura Warner of Walker, Minnesota; and Wilbur, Myrtle and George. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. H. A. Bradner of Aberdeen, Washington, and C. L. Rogers of Santa Barbara, California. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, two grandsons and four granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Laird Chapel with Rev. English officiating. Mr. St. John was by trade a carpenter at which he worked faithfully. He was a good father and a friend to everyone. Mrs. Warner was unable to be present at the funeral. The children desire to thank the friends who so kindly assisted them in their sorrow.
