Walter P. [GAGNON], 73, R.R. 1, North Manchester, died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday. He had been ill two months and death was attributed to a heart attack. Born Jan. 22, 1901, at Iroquois County, Ill., he was the son of Edward and Armin [BLAIR] [GAGNON]. His marriage was April 21, 1924, in North Manchester to Mabel ECKMAN. She died in 1968. A retired employee of the Buckeye Pipeline and State Highway department, he had lived most of his life in the North Manchester area. He was a member of the Manual United Methodist church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. David (Marilyn) JOHNS, Fort Wayne; one son, Robert [GAGNON], R.R. 1, Silver Lake; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Loretta HANCOCK, Akron; six brothers, O'Neal, Rosewell and Orville [GAGNON], all of Akron; Arthur [GAGNON], of Claypool; Russell [GAGNON], South Whitley, and Blair [GAGNON], of New Haven. One son; one daughter, a sister and three brothers preceded in death. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Sheetz funeral home in Akron. The Rev. Gerald POPE will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
