Dora Ruth Stone, 89, of Marion, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 7:40 p.m. at her home.
A daughter of the late William Martin and Ada Campbell Asbridge, she was a member of Frances Baptist Church and a retired cook from Frances Elementary School Cafeteria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Stone; two sisters, Ola Asbridge and Virginia DeBoe; and a brother, J.C. Asbridge.
Survivors of Mrs. Stone include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Paul Monroe Stone of Frances, Jerry Dale Stone and Max Evans and Lisa Stone, all of Marion, and Wesley Miles and Kathy Stone of Fredonia; five grandchildren and spouses, Angela and Bradley Richards of Paducah, Leslie and Mark Jackson of Dycusburg, Kayla and Jeremy Brasher of Fredonia, Jennifer and John Martin of Louisiana and Evan Stone of Marion; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Madison, John, Noah, Tamara and Emily; a brother, Freeman Stone of Valparsiso., Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem with the Rev. Lonnie Knight and the Rev. Rich Gardner officiating.
Burial followed at Frances Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny Odom officiating.
