Paul Stone, 84, died June 28, 2003 at Lourdes Hospital. He was a member of Frances Baptist Church and the AFL CIO Steelworkers Union.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Stone of Frances; four sons, Monnie Stone of Frances, Wesley Stone of Fredonia, Jerry Dale Stone and Max Evans Stone, both of Marion; four sisters, Adelaide Dorf of Florida, Phyllis Kuxhaus of California, Inez Peek of Indiana, and Dottie Helen Simpson of Illinois; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Lee and Lula Harpending Stone; a brother; a sister; a half-brother, a half-sister.

Funeral services were held July 1 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips, Rev. Lonnie Knight, and Rev. Kenneth Odom officiating. Burial was in Frances Cemetery.
