Dorothy B. Durrence, 95, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Glenvue Nursing Home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all her life. She retired from Food Services with the Tattnall County Board of Education. She was a member of Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, Ladies' Circle, and Choir.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Carolyn and Talmadge Todd, Linda and Ed Banks, and LeGay and Bobby Fuller, all of Glennville; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Bytha Durrence of Glennville; sister, Claudine Bland of Glennville; half-sisters: Frances Bouy, Willene Brewton, and Johnnie Lou Mitchell, all of Savannah; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder David Summerford officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shawn Driggers, Lee Quick, Jeremy Wiggins, Greg Durrence, Eddie Banks, and Eric Durrence.
Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements.
