Dennis W. Cain, 36 Devereux Street, died yesterday, Jan. 14, 1936, in a local hospital, after an illness of one week. Death was due to pneumonia.
He was born near Waterville, son of the late Thomas and Anastasia Ryan Cain. He was educated in Waterville and came to Utica as a young man. He had since resided in Utica and was chef. Mr. Cain was a Democrat and a member of St. John's Church. He married Mabel Hamman of Rome in 1917. Besides his widow, Mr. Cain leaves two brothers, Thomas F. of Madison and Edmand[sic] J. of Utica; five sisters, Mrs. James F. Rogers, Mrs. Henry A. Helmer, Mrs. Winifred P. Noon, Miss M. P. Cain and Miss Catherine V. Cain, all of Utica. The body was taken to the William E. Doyle Funeral Home, 13 Hopper Street.
