Edmund H. Crabtree, 55, died suddenly on the morning of Jan. 23 at his home at Dover South Mills. He was born in Easton June 18, 1906, the son of Talmadge [sic., ie. Talmage] and Abbie Dickey Crabtree. He moved to Dover with his family when he was about a year old and this town has been his home since then. After completing his education he was employed by the Merrill Lumber Co., the Piscataquis Contracting Co. and at the time of his death, by the Western Auto Associate Store.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence Merrill Crabtree, two sons, Bernard A. and Duane E., a daughter Miss Eunice A. Crabtree, all of Dover-Foxcroft; two brothers, John N. of Mechanic Falls and Perry C. of Greensboro, N. C.; four sisters, Mrs. Ellen L. Card of Medford, Mass., Miss Anne S. Crabtree of Auburn, Mrs. Clara Russell of Lewiston and Mrs. Etta M. Moran of Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Jan 25 at 2 p.m. at the Lary Funeral Home here with the Rev. John Oulton of the Advent Christian Church officiating.
Interment will be in the spring.
