For years there was an oval shaped stone on this grave. It would be wonderful if it would be brought back! Thank you.

His name is incorrectly spelled on his stone as his parents named him for the well-known Baptist evangelist of that day, T. DeWitt Talmage of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Fort Fairfield Review, 20 Sep 1905, p. 5:
Crabbe-Dickey
Easton Young Man and Spragues Mill Young Woman United in Marriage
A quiet wedding occurred Wednesday evening, September 20, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Dickey, Spragues Mill, when their daughter Miss Abbie Edna was united in marriage to Mr. Talmage DeWitt Crabbe of Easton.
Rev. C. H. Tucker, pastor of the Free Baptist church at Spragues Mill, performed the ceremony. Miss Annie Thomas, niece of the groom, acted as maid of honor, while Charlie Kinney was best man.
The bride was becomingly attired in white muslin, and carried a bouquet of white asters. Miss Thomas wore white, and carried a colored bouquet.
Refreshments of ice-cream and cake were served by Miss Clara Dickey, sister of the bride, and W. E. Curtis, after which the young couple left for their home at Pine Tree.
There were many useful and beautiful presents, showing to some degree the high esteem in which the principals in this happy affair are held by many friends.
Invitations are out for a reception to be held Tuesday evening, September 26, at the home of the groom.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Crabbe are most favorably known in this region, and have the congratulations and kindest wishes of a legion of friends.

Rev. John W. Meisner will officiate. Burial will be in the South Dover cemetery in the spring.
He was born in Greenfield, N. B., the son of John [sic] and Anna Crabtree.
Surviving are eight children, Edmund Crabtree, Vinal Crabtree, Mrs. Ella [sic] Stevens, of Dover-Foxcroft, John Crabtree of Mechanic Falls, Mrs. Ellen Card of Malden, Mass., Miss Anna Crabtree and Mrs. Clara Russell of Auburn, Perry Crabtree, U. S. Navy, Jacksonville, Fla. and twelve grandchildren.

Talmadge D. Crabtree
The sudden death of Talmadge D. Crabtree occurred at his home in South Dover on Mar. 17 due to heart failure.
He was born in Florenceville, N. B., April 1875, the son of William and Ann Crabtree. He moved to Easton when a young man. There he married Miss Abbie Edna Dickie in 1905. A few years later they came to Dover, and this has been their home since that time. His wife died in 1935.
Mr. Crabtree was a member of the South Dover church, and as long as that church was active, he was a faithful and devoted worker in its affairs and in the Sunday school. His many friends and relatives knew him as a kind father and a good neighbor.
He leaves to mourn his loss four sons and four daughters: Edmund H. Crabtree and Vinal J. Crabtree and Mrs. Etta Mae Stevens of Dover-Foxcroft; John N. of Mechanic Falls; Mrs. Clara Russell and Miss Anna Crabtree of Auburn; Mrs. Ellen Card, Malden, Mass. and Perry C.H.A. 1/c U. S. N., Jacksonville, Fla.; also 12 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. Addie Anderson of South Dover and Mrs. Charles Fields, Derby; two brothers, David of Houlton and Rev. Everett of Pontiac, Mich.
The funeral services were held at the Lary parlors Mar. 20th when Rev. J. W. Meisner conducted the service. The floral tribute was beautiful. There were many friends and relatives and all but one of Mr. Crabtree's children present; daughter Clara being ill in a hospital could not attend. He was placed in the tomb, awaiting spring burial in the South Dover cemetery. The bearers were the sons, Edmund, Vinal, John and Perry.
Those from out of town were Dave Crabtree, Houlton; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fields, Derby; Mrs. Maud Crabtree, Hallowell; Mr. and Mrs. Elton Burgess, Guilford; Mrs. Beatrice Pryor, Centerville, N. B. and Rev. Clifford Crabtree, Bangor.
"Sunset and evening star and one clear call for me, And may there be no moaning of the bar, when I put out to sea." These lines were quoted at the close of the service by Rev. Meisner.
By coincidence this same quotation was given at the funeral of Mr. Crabtree's brother Westley [sic] in Oakfield [Oakland?], by another minister only three short months ago.
