"The death of John Paul Hannahs occurred in a Neward, N. J., hospital on March 17th after a long illness. Mr. Hannahs was the son of James Newell Hannahs and Mabel (Black) Hannahs, and was born in Brooklyn January 29, 1893, removing to this village with his parents when very young. After the death of his mother in 1899, he and his two brothers made their home with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Black, and their aunt, Miss Edith Black. In 1919 he married Miss Blanche Collin. Mr. Hannahs was foreman in the plant of the Harrison Radio company, and resided in Kearney, N. J. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Doris May and Loraine Edith; two brothers, Stanley and Robert Hannahs of this village; five half-brothers, James of Walton, Roger, Richard, Gerald, and Walter of Potsdam, and two half sisters. The funeral was held at the McGrath Funeral Home, Monday at 2 o'clock and the interment was in Lakeview Cemetery." ["The Otsego Farmer & Republican" (Cooperstown, NY), Fri., Mar. 25, 1938, Page Two]
