Laura Hannahs Judd-Hartung, 89, of The Villages, Fla. passed away on Aug. 2, 2017 at Cypress Care Center, Wildwood, Fla. Ms. Judd-Hartung was born on Oct. 16, 1927 in Potsdam, NY to her parents James N. Hannahs and Hannah (Gyltz) Hannahs. She graduated from St. Lawrence Univ. Laura's career in social services inspired others with her ever present affirmation of problem-solving with a caring approach. She served in positions at several agencies, including Planned Parenthood, the Providence Girl's Club and St. Elizabeth Court Retirement Home. She was a member of Westminster Unitarian Church in East Greenwich before moving to Florida in 1998.
She loved reading, theatrical performances, working on crafts and loved working in her yard.
She is survived by her loving children: Karen Judd of Wildwood, Fla., Taylor Judd of Bellevue, Wash. and Rebecca Judd of Capitan, N.M.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and two husbands: Rev. Alfred D. Judd and Dr. Earnest W. Hartung.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Westminster Unitarian Church on Sept. 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Arrangements are entrusted to Banks/Page-Theus Funerals and Cremations, Wildwood, Fla.
