Funeral Services were held last week Tuesday in the Emanuel Episcopal Church in Norwich for James T. Hannahs, 60, of Norwich. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich.

Mr. Hannahs died Wednesday September 22 in the Sharpe Memorial Hospital, San Diego, Calif. He had been on vacation with his wife when he suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized.

He was born in New York City September 26, 1904, the son of James N. and Grace Tombs Hannahs. In 1923, he married Lydia V. Neidig in Towanda, Pa.

The couple located in Richfield Springs where Mr. Hannahs, with his father conducted a restaurant.

Mr. Hannahs was formerly a vestryman of St. John's Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs, and a member of Richfield Springs Masonic Lodge F&AM.

He later became vestryman of Emanuel Church, Norwich; a member of its Men's Club, and was active in the recent building fund drive. He was Past Master of Norwich Masonic Lodge F&AM and a district deputy of the Broome-Chenango District, and a Otseningo member of the Lodge of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites.

Mr. Hannahs was an accountant for the Mohawk Limestone Corp and the NYSE&G in Ithaca, later going to their Walton and Norwich offices. In 1946 he joined the Norwich Pharmacal Company and in 1958, became head of the accounting department, a position he held at the time of his death.

Surviving is his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Victor of Sylmer, Calif. and Mrs. Norma Nyland of Baltic, Conn; a sister, Mrs. Alfred Judd of Rhode Island; four brothers, Richard, San Diego, Roger, Saratoga Springs, Gerald, Tupper Lake, and Walter, Spancerport; his stepmother, Mrs. James N. Hannahs; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
