A resident of Stuarts Draft, Mr. Fitzgerald had been a patient in the hospital for four weeks.
He was born Jan. 9, 1896 in Nelson County, son of the late George Pleasants and Ida Harvey Fitzgerald. He operated a filling station at Greenville for a number of years and was a member of the Woodman of the World Camp, Staunton.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Thacker Fitzgerald; three daughters, Mrs. L. W. Reed, Front Royal; Mrs. Schuler Kizer, and Mrs. Monfred Saneholtz, both of Buena Vista; five sisters, Mrs. Crawford Brooks, Mrs. Ernest Almarode and Mrs. Chester Fitzgerald, all of Stuarts Draft; Mrs. Stuart Diehl and Mrs. Lertie Diehl, both of Washington, D. C.; five brothers, Samuel, Stuarts Draft, Arthur, Washington, D. C.; Clancy, Salem; Levi and Frank, both of Charlottesville; three granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be: Moffett Black, Guy Brooks, Bernice Chittum, J. W. Hoover, W. A. Bussey and Walter Reed.
Nephews of the deceased will serve as honorary pallbearers.
