STUARTS DRAFT-Mrs. Martha Wilson Almarode, 80, of Route 1, died at 9 p.m. yesterday in Waynesboro Community Hospital. Born in Montebello on July 29, 1893, she was a daughter of the late George P. and Ida Harvey Fitzgerald.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest T. Almarode on July 29, 1955.

She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Leroy H. Almarode Sr. of Stuarts Draft and George T. Almarode of Sandston; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Leona) Whitesell Sr. of Waynesboro, Mrs. Aldena Fleming of Stuarts Draft and Mrs. M. G. (Florence) Peters of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Mrs. W. L. (Ottie) Diehl of Waynesboro and Mrs. Chester (Carrie) Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft; a brother, Clancy Fitzgerald of Roanoke; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Calvary United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Wasena Wright, the Rev. Roy Kaiser and the Rev. Judson Baldwin. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Etter Funeral Home.
