"Mary, the youngest daughter of Mrs. R.J. Beers, passed from this life Monday December 9th and was laid to rest in Park Hill cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Mary Ann Beers was born on the old home farm south of Syracuse January 21st, 1889, the daughter of the late R.J. Beers and his wife, Rhoda Beers, who settled in that locality in 1876. She was 40 years, 10 months and 18 days of age when she was called by the death angel. An invalid practically all her life she was by the nature of her affliction forbade the companionship and happiness in life but was a quiet, trustful girl and was greatly beloved by her parents, brothers and sister. Her translation from the scenes of life with its sufferings was a blessed time and she will never more know suffering or pain but will rest in the home of the blessed forever. The services were held from the family home in Syracuse and she was laid to her last long rest in the family plot in Park Hill beside her father who died some three years ago. They were attended by friends of the family who gave of their sympathy help freely and willingly".
