Services for Bivens Gene Leaphart, Sr., 58, will be held Monday, November 18, 2002, at 11:00 AM, at Mount Horeb United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Cook Addy and Rev. Jeff Kersey. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 17, 2002 for 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Mount Horeb United Methodist Church. Mr. Leaphart died Friday, November 15, 2002. Born in Lexington, SC, he was the son of the late Jacob Earley and Martha Irene Shealy Leaphart. He was a retired rural mail carrier and farmer. Mr. Leaphart was a member of Mount Horeb United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Gilbert Little League Baseball Program. Surviving are his wife, Jackie Addy Leaphart of Gilbert; children, Gene and Scott Leaphart and Beth Lineberry; grandchildren, Taylor and Collin Leaphart; Scotty and Skyler Leaphart; Kelsey and Taylor Lineberry; brothers and sisters, Eleanor Wessinger; Gerald Leaphart, Sr; Nancy Hayes, Myrna Leaphart and Wyman Leaphart, Sr. and many nieces and nephews.
