Rites Are Held
For C.A. Baker
Here On Sunday

Funeral services for C.A. Baker, 87, who died at his home here Friday night, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Dennis funeral home chapel with the Rev. Vernon G. Miles, pastor of the First Baptist church, of which Mr. Baker was a member, officiating. Interment was in the Gilgal cemetery with the Dennis funeral home in charge of arrangements.

The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fannie Wells Baker of Minden, four daughters, Mrs. N.T. Woodard and Mrs. P.L. Rathbun, both of Minden, Mrs. L.R. Neill of Baton Rouge and Mrs. A.D. Leverette of Shreveport; two sons, R.A. Baker of Minden and C.G. Baker of Haughton and one brother, H.P. Baker of Calhoun.

Pallbearers for the funeral rites were J.K. Gladney, E.H. Lumpkin, W.R. Bigby, Dr. J.B. Knighton, I.M. Ford, Graydon Kitchens, T.F. Greene, and E.H. Lowe. Honorary pallbearers were members of his Sunday school class at the First Baptist Church.

Born near Mt. Lebanon, Mr. Baker spent most of his life in this parish. For a long period of time he made his home on a farm six miles out from Minden. He moved to Minden in 1920.

An active church member, he at one time served as a deacon at the Gilgal church.

Mr. Baker's death came after an illness of about five months.
