EDGAR BAKER
DIES FROM FALL
Edgar Baker, son of Mr. C.A. Baker of Minden died in a Shreveport Sanitarium on Saturday, April 15. Mr. Baker was buried in the Minden Cemetery on Sunday, the Reverend D.C. Freeman and Reverend W.F. O'Kelley of Minden conducted the services. The death of Mr. Baker came as a distinct blow to relatives and friends. Owing to circumstances causing his death, so painfully tragic, the blow fell, even with more severity. In the full vigor of young manhood, almost with out a moment's warning his young life went out. Mr. Baker was living in Haynesville and while at work on a derrick on last Friday morning fell to the ground, sustaining fatal injuries. He was rushed to a sanitarium and then later removed to Shreveport to a sanitarium in that city. His injuries were of so serious a nature that nothing could be done to save his life. He passed away on Saturday morning. His body was shipped to Minden, his old home and the home of his father and other relatives near and dear to him. On Sunday afternoon his body was laid to rest in Minden Cemetery. Services were jointly conducted by Reverend Freeman of the First Baptist Church and Reverend O'Kelley of the Presbyterian Church. Many friends were present and many a beautiful Wreath was placed lovingly upon his grave. He is survived by his father, C.A. Baker, and two brothers, R.A. Baker and Grady Baker, and four sisters, Mrs. P.L. Rathburn, A.D. Leverette, N.T. Woodard and L.R. Neill, all of Minden except Mrs. Neill, who lives at Hope, Ark.
