Mrs Rosa Sophia Ritter Shilling died Sunday morning at 6 o'clock at her home 100 Elizabeth Street,Lewistown Junction.Death was due to a heart attack.She had been suffering with a heart condition for more then three years, and was bedfast at various times.Recently however she was able to be up and about her home.She was stricken while conversing with a member of the immediate family a short time after partaking of the evening meal.Her husband Charles Samuel Shilling proceded her in death Jan 8,1939 and a son Albert Banks died in infancy.She was born March 28,1870 in Snyder County daughter of Henry Ritter and Matilda Knepp Ritter both deceased.At the time of her death she was aged 69 years 6 months and 17 days. Mr and Mrs shilling observed their golden wedding anniversary July 19,1938. During practically all their married life they resided at the Lewistown Junction where they were friendly to all and it could be truthfully said all were their friends.Surviving are two sons and six daughters Wilson Shilling and Harry Shilling of Lewistown, Mrs Harry (Grace) Brought and Mrs Boyd (Mary) Barlett both of Granville,Mrs Edward (Mabel) Shannon,Mrs Levi (Hazel) Pecht,Mrs George (Margaret) Riden,Mrs John (Ruth) Brannon all of Lewistown. Also 15 grandchildren and five great grand children and the following sisters and brothers,Mrs Charles (Sallie) Steele of Cleveland Ohio,Mrs Percy (Bertha) Seibert of Saxton, Mrs Peck (Lizzie) Brannon of Mifflintown, Mrs Harvey (Mollie) Messerman,Mrs Clarence (Anna) Wheeler,Mrs John (Florence) Beers,John Ritter, Joseph Ritter, and Charles Ritter all of Lewistown.She was a member of the First Methodist Church. Funeral will be conducted at her late residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev George E Johnson. Interment will be in Lind Memorail Cemetery.Friends will be received at the home today at 4 pm until services Wednesday.
