Loyd Charles LaFonataine, 84, died on Sunday, February 28, 1993, at his home n Dudley Township, rural Bagley.
Loyd was born May 8, 1908, in Clearwater County to Phillip and Emma LaFontaine. He has lived his entire life in Clearwater County and for the past 25 years in Dudley Township.
His marriage to Elsie Mathison took place in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on February 27, 1927. Mrs. LaFontaine died in 1985.
Survivors include five children, Donald of Bagley, Eva Holweger of Northwood, North Dakota, Ida (Mrs. Warren) Nichols, Leslie LaFontaine, and Gladys (Mrs. Vern) Hlavac, all of Bagley; one step daughter, LaVerne (Mrs. Lloyd) Olson of Bagley; 28 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Loyd was preceded in death by his wife in 1985, one granddaughter, five brothers and one sister.
His funeral will be Thursday, March 4, at 2 p.m. in the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley. The Rev. Lyle Twite will officiate and burial will be in the Bagley City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3 from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Cease Funeral Home, Bagley.
