Frank was the son of Charles Bailey and Emma Thayer. Emma married Phillip LaFontaine after Charles' death.

He had at least 11 siblings.

Frank Bailey 1882-1971

Frank James Bailey, resident of Dudley Township, near Leonard, died Tuesday August 17 at the Clearwater County Memorial Hospital at the age of 88 years. He was born December 18, 1882 at Wahpeton, North Dakota to parents Charles and Emma Bailey. He was married to Martha Ehlers, October 29, 1905 in Dudley Township. Mrs. Ehlers passed away in 1962. While still a young man he lived for a time in Beltrami County, moving to Dudley Township in 1905 where he has lived ever since.
He is survived by one brother, Henry Bailey of California and six half brothers: George LaFontaine, Duluth; Felix LaFontaine, St. Paul; Alex LaFontaine, Bemidji; Mark LaFontaine, Bagley; Lloyd LaFontaine, Grand Forks and Robert LaFontaine, Seattle, Washington; and one sister, Julia Nelson, Detroit Lakes.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21 at 11 a.m. in the Cease Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Burrell Bentz officiating. Burial will be made in the East Zion Cemetery in Dudley Township under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home.
