Betty J. Bush, 87, of Cranberry-Rockland Road, Kennerdell, Cranberry Township, died at 10:09 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born November 10, 1923 in Clarion County, she was the daughter of Earl and Lenora Campbell Jordan.
Mrs. Bush was a 1944 graduate of the Rockland High School.
She was an active member of Rockland United Methodist Church, which she joined in 1948. She taught Sunday school there and served as a youth group leader. In 1999, she participated in a mission trip to Flagstaff, Arizona, where the she helped the mission team construct buildings on an Indian reservation.
Mrs. Bush enjoyed cooking, baking, and crocheting.
She was a homemaker, and was also a co-owner with her husband in the Montgomery Ward catalog store which they operated together for many years in Seneca.
She was married at the Rockland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bernard Himes on October 4, 1947, to Harvey C. Bush, Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Harvey C. Bush III and his wife Dorothy of Sugarcreek village, and Phillip Allen Bush of Castleberry, Florida; two step-grandchildren, Buffy O'Dell and husband Ronald of Cooperstown, and Stacy Fike and husband Dave of Franklin; four step-great-grandchildren, Ronnie, Emily and Abby O'Dell, and Branden Fike; and a brother, Robert C. Jordan and wife Barbara of Rockland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucinda Shreffler, Louise McIllwan, Dolly Jordan, and Maxine Jordan; and two brothers, Norman and Norris Jordan.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Linda Dinger, pastor of Rockland United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.
