NORRIS CRAIG "CURLY" JORDAN, 78, of Knox, died early Tuesday morning, December 30, 2003, at his residence. Born September 19, 1925, in Rockland, he was a son of Earl C. and Lenora E. Campbell Jordan. Mr. Jordan graduated from Rockland High School in 1943 and then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked at Pennzoil for more than 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Nickleville Presbyterian Church. Mr. Jordan enjoyed working in his wood shop and selling his crafts at festivals. He loved spending time with his family and going to flea markets. He was married July 31, 1947, at Rockland Methodist Church to the former Helen Rebecca Shorts, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Daniel Craig Jordan and his wife, Pam, of Cranberry; three daughters, Rebecca Kathleene Jordan of Knox, Brenda Sue Schmader of Cranberry and Barbara Joyce "Barbie" Exley of Knox; seven grandchildren: Mike Jordan and his wife, Christie, Lisa Jordan, Tanya Schmader, Deana Schmader, Jackie Schmader, Ryan Exley and Jason Exley; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Jordan; a sister, Betty J. Bush and her husband, Harvey, of Cranberry; a brother, Robert Jordan and his wife, Barb, of Kennerdell; and a sister-in-law, Ann Jordan of Oil City. A brother, Norman E. "Spike" Jordan; three sisters, Edith Lucinda Shreffler, Louise V. McIlwain and Dolly Jordan; and a granddaughter, Jessica Rene Schmader, preceded him in death. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the William N. Rupert Mortuary Inc., Knox. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sue Montgomery officiating. Interment will be at the Nickleville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Nickleville Presbyterian Church or the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice in Knox.
