NEVER REGAINED CONSCIOUSNESS --

Mr. J. M. Bennett of Near Kelso Dies From Injuries --

Mr. J. M. Bennett, living two miles east of Kelso, who was thrown from a horse about noon Saturday and dragged on the ground until unconsciousness, died yesteray afternoon about 3:00 o'clock. Mr. Bennett was returning from the fields and was thrown or fell from the horse, his feet becoming entangled in the chains. He was dragged for a long distance over rough ground and through woods. He was found a short time later by two of his young sons who were also returning from work. Mr. Bennett's body was badly battered, bruised and cut, but as he never regained consiousness, just how the accident happened will never be known. A wife and nine children survive him.
