ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. ALBERS

Rites Not Complete For Resident Here Since 1909

Ill for one month, Mrs. Dirk Albers, 80, longtime resident of Port Arthur, died at the family home, 1327 Houston avenue, at 2:30 a.m. today.

A native of the Netherlands, she came to Port Arthur in 1909. She was a member of St. John's English Lutheran church, and of that church's Ladies Aid society.

Surviving are five sons, Jake Albers of Selma, Calif., Carl, Peter and Ted Albers of Port Arthur, and Ted Albers of Houston; four daughters, Mrs. Ella Johnson of Port Arthur, Mrs. Walter Beaumont of Groves, Mrs. J.. J. Ryder of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Hans Barkema of Jewel, Iowa; 37 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The body will be at the home until time for the funeral service, to be announced by Clayton and Thompson after the arrival of relatives.

Hermina (Mina) Buss was married to George Wessels. They had at least 3 children, Herman, Ella and Annette. She married Dirk Albers Nov. 5, 1885 in Webster City. She was the daughter of Herm. Peter Buss and Antje Feir.
