N. F. Sterling of Naxera Dies
Gloucester, June 23 - Noah Franklin Sterling Jr., 52, of Naxera, died Tuesday afternoon in the U.S. Marine Hospital, Norfolk, where he had been a patient for three months. Mr. Sterling, a son of the late Noah Franklin Sterling and Missouri Coates Sterling, had been in ill health for the past five years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Deal Sterling; four daughters, Mrs. Wilson Seawell of Wicomico; Mrs. Oscar Gardner and Mrs. Paul Craven of Williamsburg; Miss Kathleen Sterling of Naxera; two sons, Curtis and Raymond Sterling of Naxera; two grandchildren; four brothers, Ed, Dick and Cecil Sterling of Gloucester, and Chris Sterling of Baltimore; seven sisters, Mrs. B. C. Clements and Mrs. Harold Gwyn of Gloucester; Mrs. J. P. Edwards of Gloucester Point; Mrs. R. B. Hillers, Mrs. Rufus Hudgins and Mrs. A. C. Luckert, all of Norfolk; and Mrs. W. S. K. Selden of Pennsylvania; four half-brothers, Harry Byrd, Charles Curtis, Herbert Hoover and Gene Sterling, all of Gloucester, and a half-sister, Miss Lorraine Sterling of Gloucester.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Severn Presbyterian Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. S. O. Coxe. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
