Leon C. Abel, 56, Rothschild, dropped dead in front of the gatekeeper house at the Marathon Paper Mills company last evening at 6 o'clock on his way to work. He was rushed to Memorial hospital by fellow workers but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Dr. A. H. Stahmer, Marathon county coroner, who investigated the death, said it was the result of heart disease.

Born in Cincinnati, O., July 21, 1881, he was brought to the town of Weston by his parent in 1883. Part of the village of Rothschild now occupies what was once the old Abel farm. For the last 19 years he was employed at the paper mills. Married to Angeline Bloczynaki at Wausau October 28, 1914, he Is survived by his widow; six children, Henry, Ione, Rosemarie, Joyce, Richard and Beverley Anne Abel, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Ray Beste and Mrs. Frank Walter, Rothschild, and Mrs. Mary Brown, 526 Jackson street, and two brothers, Paul Abel, Haider, and John Abel, Rothschild, Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8 o'clock at home and at 9 o'clock at St. James church here. The Rev. Vincent Schwartz will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
