Mrs. Thomas A. Adams

Mrs. Ella C. Adams, wife of Thomas A. Adams, 445 North College Street, died this morning at the Carlisle Hospital. She was 79 years old.

Born on Feb. 24, 1889, in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Rose Lay. She was graduated from Shippensburg State College in the class of 1907 and was the last surviving charter member of the Community Baptist Church and Sunday School.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, W. Ritter Adams and Robert A. Adams, both of Carlisle; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Goldstein, Mrs. Jean Zeigler and Mrs. Beatrice Williams, all of Carlisle, and Mrs. Catherine Lindsay of Harrisburg; one brother, Frank F. Lay, Carlisle; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Shenk, Carlisle; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the G. Book Roth Funeral Home, Walnut bottom Road and Belvedere Street. The Rev. Harry L. Lindsay, Jr., her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until time of service.
