The following obituary appeared in the "Patriot-News" (Harrisburg, PA) on November 12, 2013:

Jean M. Zeigler died November 10, 2013 at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community, Carlisle. She was born April 6, 1918 in Carlisle, PA a daughter of the late Thomas and Ella Lay Adams and widow of Clayton H. Zeigler.

She graduated from Carlisle High School in 1936. Jean and her husband Clayton were previous owners of Zeigler's Storage & Transfer, Inc. They became an agent for American Red Ball World Wide Movers in 1952. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Moving and Storage Association. Jean was also a member of the American Moving and Storage Association in Alexandria, VA, where she was one the first women who became a Certified Moving Consultant. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Carlisle, PA. Jean was a life member of the Carlisle Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly C. Zeigler of Carlisle and Brenda Zeigler Davidson and husband William of Carlisle. Two grandchildren Clayton W. Davidson and wife Keirsten, and Heath Davidson and wife Julie, both of Mechanicsburg. Five great grandchildren, Talon, Brady, Alexa, Will, and Drew Davidson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, W. Ritter Adams, Robert A. Adams, and three sisters, Edna C. Goldstein, R. Catherine Lindsay, and Beatrice M. Williams.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013 at First United Church of Christ, 30 North Pitt Street, Carlisle with Rev. Lynn R. Schultz officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
