Services for Dema Lee Tompkins, 64, were held at 1 p.m. today in the Oakley-Metcalf Chapel with Rev. Lynn Stephens and Rev. Maxine Wiggins officiating and burial in Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Tompkins, of Lufkin, died Monday morning in a local hospital. She was born in Trinity County and had lived most of her life in Angelina County. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Keltys.
Survivors: mother, Mrs. Mattie Mae Johnson; sons, Marvin Whinery and Walter Tompkins; daughters, Sylvia Tompkins and Pamela Tompkins; brother, Arnold Johnson; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Paul W. Whinery, Christopher Whinery, Elma McDonald, A. J. Johnson, Eddie Wayne "Bubba" Johnson and David C. Johnson.
