Mrs. Audy Mae Brannen Rushing, age 88, died Monday morning at Brown's Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a homemaker and retired from the Aldred Motel after 32 years of service. She truly enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens and was a member of the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Rushing was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Rushing; a son, a granddaughter, three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Margaret (Benny) Colson; four sons, Bennie Rushing, Ronald Rushing, Jerry (Ranee') Rushing and Carl (Cathy) Rushing, all of Statesboro; two brothers, Floyd and Pete Brannen, both of Statesboro; one sister, Liladale Freeman of Statesboro; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Howard Rushing officiating. Burial will be in the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Hodges-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
