Statesboro - Lonnie L. Brannen, 68, died Wednesday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital here after a long illness. The Bulloch County native was a Middleground area resident the past 10 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of Bethlethem Primitive Baptist Church in Statesboro.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bernice Campbell Brannen of Statesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Becky Wilson of Brooklet and Mrs. Barbara Murphy of Guyton; two sons, Roy Lonnie and James Craig Brannen, both of Statesboro; four brothers, Floyd, Rob, Joe and Pete Brannen, all of Statesboro; six sisters, Mrs. Harvey Deal, Mrs. Herman Rushing and Mrs. James Freeman, all of Statesboro, Mrs. Rufus Stripling of Savannah, Mrs. Mac McDaniel of Tifton and Mrs. Larry Dodson of La Fayette; and four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. today at Smith-Tillman Mortuary in Statesboro, burial in Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesboro.
