Mrs. McCaffree Dies at Age of 86, Rites Thursday

Cedar Falls—Mrs. Ann E. McCaffree, 86, widow of the late J. W. McCaffree, died at 5 a. m. Wednesday at her home, 208 West Sixth street of ailments incident to her advanced age.
She had been a resident of this community about 50 years, residing for many years on Waterloo road at the edge of the city, where Mr. McCaffree operated a dairy and was a leading breeder of purebred Duroc Jersey hogs, holding annual sales in a pavilion built for that specific purpose.
Mrs. McCaffree was born Ann E. Sailor, daughter of William and Fannie Rush Sailor, Oct. 8. 1862, at Waverly, where she grew to womanhood and on Oct. 13. 1880, became the bride of John W. McCaffree.
They began their married life on a farm southwest of Waverly. Two daughters were born to them, one of whom survives. She is Miss Pearl McCaffree, 208 West Sixth. The other daughter was Mrs. C. M. Parker, wife of a Cedar Falls attorney. She died here Jan. 27, 1941.
Mrs. McCaffree was a lifelong member of the Baptist church. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America here.
The funeral will be at First Baptist church at 3 p. m. Thursday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Joseph H. Cochrane.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
