Harriet was the daughter of William & Fannie Saylor. She married John Pitts on 25 February 1875 in Waverly, Bremer, Iowa. They were the parents of Eliza J, Rachel M, William J, Oliver W, Aaron Horace, Arthur A, John W, Leora M, & Jessie.

Dec 3, 1930 - Mrs. Jno. Pitts passed away Friday night after several weeks sickness with pneumonia. The funeral of Mrs. Jno. Pitts was held Monday afternoon from the Methodist church, Rev. Figge officiating. Interment was made in the Union cemetery.
