She was the wife of the late Charles M. Herr, who passed away in 1992. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Nathan H. and Jennie G. Steele Baker.
Dawn had worked in sales for many local stores over the years, including Watt & Shand, Garvins, Mandees, Boscovs and JC Penney. She had also worked at Hamilton Watch many years ago.
She enjoyed shopping on HSN and QVC, loved animals especially her cats, and enjoyed taking walks with her daughters. She also liked to go to Ocean City, MD, Atlantic City, and Wildwood.
Dawn is survived by her son: David C. Herr and her daughter, Julie A. Herr, both of Lancaster; her grandson Ryan Herr and her great grandchildren Ashleigh, Devin, and Jarrett. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Vital of Mountville and her brother, John married to Yvonne Baker of Strasburg. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Enck, and her siblings: Mary Schober, Betty Heaps, Dorothy Kurtz, Sarah Thatcher, Pat Baker, and Barbara Colson.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA from 10-11AM, with a Time of Sharing to follow at 11AM.
