He was a bookkeeper for Kendrick Tire Company. He was a member of the SPJST, Veterans of Foreign War Post No. 4819, and a member of St Paul's Church.
Survivors include two sons Monroe W. Janke Jr. of Clifton, and Maurice Ray Janke of Waco, a daughter Janet M. Watkins of Mesquite, a brother, Roy Janke of Elm Mott; 3 sisters, Agnes Harris, and Frances Wilshire both of Elm Mott, and Deannie Erwin of Waco, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
