Mr. Janke was born July 17, 1908 in Gerald, and had lived in Elm Mott area all his life.
He was a farmer and retired from Civil Service in 1965. He worked part-time at Sunbelt Welding in Waco.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of the American Legion post #478 in West, and a member of St. Paul's United Church in Gerald. He married Irene Lander in November 1947.
Survivors include: His wife Irene Janke; two brothers, Roy Janke and Monroe Janke both of Elm Mott; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Harris of Elm Mott, Mrs. John (Oden) Erwin of Waco, and Mrs. Emmett (Frances) Wilshire of Elm Mott, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Louis Walter Janke, 74, of Elm Mott will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Church in Gerald, the Rev. Don Gibbard officiating. Burial will be in Gerald Cemetery.
