Thursday, March 27, 1941

Funeral services for John Schaefer, who died Sunday were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, from the residence of his son, Frank, in Mt. Calvary and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in that village, with Rev. Fr. Nicholas O.M. Cap officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Four grandchildren of Mr. Schaefer, Mary Kraus, Esther Schaefer, Rosetta Kraus and Mildred Schmitz, served as flower bearers and Kenneth Schaefer was crossbearer.

Honorary pallbearers were R.R. Birschbach, J.P.I. Birschbach, John Schultz, Bartoli Bred, August Kraus and Ben Kraus, while Leander Sabel, Ervin Schaefer, Leo Schmitz, Melvin Kraus, Marvin Kraus, and Gilson Sabel were active bearers.

Persons attending the service were the Ven. Sister M. Gasper of Harbor Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kalt of Neenah, and many from this city and nearby places.
