Benjamin 5th born child of 10 children 7 sons; Rufus, Benjamin, Ambrose, Enos, Joseph W., John and A. Dana. 3 daughters, Fanny, Martha G., and Lucy born to Joseph and Prudence Parks Corey.
Joseph was the son of Jonathan and Martha Cooke Corey, Prudence was the daughter of Amos and Grace Herrick Parks.
As a young man Benjamin moved with his family to Allegany/Steuben Co NY, from Luzerne Co PA. Where his father, Joseph owned a mill, Joseph died there 11 Jun 1818 from a fall.
Benjamin married Ruth Tanner 01 Dec 1821 at Almond NY. Ruth was the daughter of Rev Stephen Tanner a 7th Day Baptist Minister, and Lois Babcock.
Their marriage was blessed with 12 children; Benjamin, Montraville, Charles Moore, James Kent, George Lewelling, Marietta S., Albert, Ambrose Brookmire, Enos Danio, John Rufus, Rowena, and Stephen Tanner Corey. They moved from NY to NW Pennsylvania, Crawford Co. Thence westward finally settling in Wisconsin. Still wanting to move he and family members moved to SE Nebraska mid 1870.
He was a farmer and was made a Mason in Morning Star Lodge No. 27 Hornellsville New York January 1823, if he had lived until January would have been sixty years a mason.
He and Ruth have certainly left a legacy with many descendants from their 12 children.

Mr Corey was made a Mason in Morning Star Lodge No 27 Hornellsville New York January 1823, and if he had lived until January would have been sixty years a mason. He went from the state of New York to Pennsylvania, thence into Wisconsin and came to Nebraska in 1869. He has lived in Crete since 1871. He was the father of Judge J.K. Corey and Stephen Corey of Saline county. He died this afternoon and his last sickness has been long and painful.
He was eighty-five years of age. He was married in 1822 to Ruth Turner who survives him but is very feeble.
