Rufus, Fanny, Martha, Lucy, Benjamin, Ambrose, Enos, Joseph W., John and A. Dana, were children born to Joseph and Prudence Parks Corey of Luzerne Co PA and Allegany Co NY. A. Dana was the only child of theirs born in NY.
Joseph was the son of Jonathan and Martha Cooke ____ Corey. 1778 Revolutionary War Joseph did serve. We don't have in depth info on his service, but enough to confirm his serving. Joseph also survived the 3 Jul 1778 Wyoming Valley Massacre, Luzerne Co PA where his three brothers Anson, Jenks and Rufus did not survive.
24 Oct 1824 PA Enos married Electa Wilcox. Their marriage was blessed with 12 known children; Permelia, Alonzo Adelbert, George C. (?), Rachael Rosina, Lucy M., Sophronia W., Warner Joseph, Elnora Malvina, Adalia, Alice, Alfred George and Ira Corey. Enos and family made an awesome trip from Luzerne Co PA to Allegany/Steuben Co NY to Crawford Co PA to Dodge Co WI, not done yet, then by 1880 are in Fillmore Co NE, then to his final place of rest the state
of CA.
His daughter, Permelia authored and published a book in 1908 called "How the Coreys went West." It profiles Enos but historically it leaves a lot of emptiness. But a cute read.
I do not know the final resting place of Enos, but with all our ancestors I believe he deserves a memorial.
