Obituary:
John S. Johnston, 71, of Mohnton R.D. 1, died yesterday afternoon in St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born near Fritztown, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Schlegel) Johnston, he was a retired farmer.
A member of Jehovah's Witnesses, Johnston is survived by his widow, Ruth C. (Smith) Johnston, and three daughters: Eunice C. and Myrtle, both at home, and Mrs. Ruth Degler, Reading.
Three sons: Harold, of Van Nuys, Calif.; John, of Trumansburg, N.Y., and Walter, of Reading, and six grandchildren and two brothers: Joseph, of Lincoln Park, and Howard, of Harrisburg.
Also two sisters: Laura, wife of George Bickel, Schuylkill Haven, and Mamie, in Maryland.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Lutz Funeral Home, followed by burial in Sinking Spring Cemetery.
