Mildred L. Read
Mrs. J. Harold (Mildred Louise) READ, 75, 1116 Monroe street, died at 4:45 a.m. today in Woodlawn hospital, where she had been a patient for 10 days.
She was born Jan. 7, 1900 in Rochester to Lewis Clay and Lina JOHNSON SHEETS and had resided most of her life in this community; she also had lived in Chicago for seven years. She was married Jan. 19, 1924 in Chicago to J. Harold READ, who survives. She was a former Fulton county auditor, serving in 1945-46. She attended Indiana State university and taught school in Fulton county. She was a member of the Rochester First Baptist church.
Surviving with the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Carolyn) WESTON, Morocco, Ind.; two grandchildren, John [WESTON], of Indianapolis and Kathleen [WESTON] of Morocco; a sister, Miss Marty J. SHEETS, Rochester; a brother, John [SHEETS], of Crestline, Cal. Three sisters and three brothers preceded in death.
Last rites will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Foster & Good funeral home with the Rev. Donald MAUGHAN officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.
