Marty J. Sheets
Marty Jill SHEETS, 78, of 129 W. Ninth St., died at 12:40 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Hospital. She had been in failing health for a year.
She was born Aug. 3, 1907 in Rochester to Lewis Clay and Lina May JOHNSON SHEETS and had resided all her life in Rochester. A registered nurse, she graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She had practiced private duty nursing at Woodlawn Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir for many years, and a member o the Epsilon Gamma Sunday School class.
Surviving are a brother, John W. SHEETS, Calimesa, Calif., and nieces and nephews, including Betty Jane BAKER, Mrs. John (Doris) MADLEM and Mrs. Jack (Joyce) SMILEY, all of Rochester. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Donald MAUGHAN officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
