Floyd Edgar Galey, 67, a resident of 928 N. Bowman, Danville, IL the past 22 years, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 22, 1969) in Colonial Manor Nursing Home where be had been a patient 17 days. Mr. Galey had been ill six months and bedfast six weeks.

A native of Edgar County, IL, Mr. Galey was born Sept. 1, 1902, the son of Marion F. and Naomi Wise Simpson Galey.
His schooling was at Paris, IL, and was later employed by the Nickel Plate Railroad, New York Central Railroad, and last worked as a car inspector at Lyons Yards in Danville for the Penn Central Railroad.

Mr. Galey was first married to Sarah Ellen Timmons in 1922 at Clinton County, IN. Surviving from this marriage are five daughters, Mrs. Mary Smither, Speedway, IN, Mrs. Florence Keller, Indianapolis, Mrs. Thelma Snell, Greentown, IN, Mrs. Barbara Snell, Kirklin, IN., and Mrs. Dazie Bland, Forrest, IN.

He was later married to Genevieve E. Hobaugh in Danville. Surviving from this marriage are a stepson, Richard E. Hobaugh,, stationed with the U.S. Army in Okinawa; five daughters, Mrs. Leanna Newton, Folson, LA, Mrs. Mollie Gray, Danville, and Polly. Colleen and Terrie, all at home.

Other survivors include four brothers, John of Casey, IL, Toney, Loney and Ralph Galey, all of Frankfort, IN; four sisters, Mrs. Mae Ireland, Midland, MI., Mrs. Pearl Wilson, Mrs. Hazel Gaines, and Mrs. Ruby Myers, all of Frankfort, IN, 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Mr. Galey was a member of the Transport Workers Union. His hobby was woodworking.
