It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Polly Sharon Galey became an angel on the morning of September 23, 2017 while being hospitalized at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her daughter Tracie, a brother, and four sisters. Polly is survived by the love of her life and spouse Jean Norton of 26 years, her son Corbin (Nieve) Galey, and bonus children Kyle (Alexa) Canfield, daughter Kelly (Joe) Salter, and her grandchildren Wyatt, Owen, Marshall, Kaitlyn, Evan, and Colin. She also considered Andrew and Max Barbee and later Jimmy Sollars as honorary sons. She is also survived by five sisters: Barbara Cochran, Leanna (Charles) Thomas, her twin Molly Galey, Colleen (Mohammad) Samii, and Terrie (Bud) Vaughn with many nieces and nephews that were all close to her heart and loved just as much as her own children.

She was known to find complete joy and happiness in showing her love through support of any family member’s hobbies, fundraisers, and/or extracurricular activities. She loved nothing more than to be the loudest cheerleader on the sidelines.

Polly is surely singing and dancing in heaven with her idol Janis Joplin and teaching her all about the group she loved almost as much, Heart. Amongst many things she might be caught doing in heaven would be playing anyone in Canasta or poker, attending any type of heavenly concert, coloring with anyone who has adequate colored pencils, and most of all loving on all the babies that she can fit her arms around.

Polly, you will be sorely missed but we will see you again. Until then please leave the pencil sharpener out and a coloring book page open for us.
