Bryce Fischer, 88, of Tuscumbia died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at St. Elizabeth Care Center in St. Elizabeth. He was born March 10, 1908, in Ulman to John N. and Nellie Sooter Fischer. On June 12, 1932, he was married in Iberia to Eula Bilyeu, who survives at the home.
Mr. Fischer was baptized as a young adult at Mt. Zion Christian Church and attended the Iberia Church of Christ in recent years. He was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Tuscumbia community. He was a member of the Miller County Historical Society.
Others surviving him are a son, Roger B. Fischer of Tuscumbia; a daughter, Karen Fagan of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Ialeen Scott of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Neil Fischer of Eldon, Steve Fischer of Pleasant Hill and John and Jamie Fischer of Tuscumbia; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Gene Edwards and Bro. Gary Murrell officiating. An acapella choir from the Iberia Church of Christ sang. Patty Lupardus was organist for the service. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Tuscumbia. Grandsons and nephews were pallbearers.
