Grover Timothy Gibson, 74, died Wednesday, April 10, 1991 at Community Memorial Hospital, Marysville, Kansas.
He was born February 23, 1917, at Frankfort, Kansas, the son of John T. and Lulu (Lefler) Gibson.
He attended Frankfort Elementary School and graduated Frankfort High School in 1936.
Mr. Gibson worked for the Frankfort Dailey Index and helped on the family farm until moving to Kansas City in 1950 where he worked as a courier for Western Type Setting until retiring in 1981. Then he moved back to Frankfort where he made his home with his sister, Gretchen, until the time of his death.
Mr. Gibson was a member of the United Methodist Church in Frankfort, Kansas.
Grover enjoyed all sports activities. He enjoyed gardening and maintaining his home. He was a brother and uncle, who took great pleasure in his family. Grover
could tell you interesting happenings of long ago about history and ancestry especially regarding Frankfort people and events.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lulu Gibson; brothers, Giles, Glen Grant, George and Gilbert Gibson; sisters, Geneva Farrell, Grace Jones, Geraldine Meeks, and two infant sisters, Gailie and Garnet.
Survivors are one sister, Gretchen Gibson of the home, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 1991, in the United Methodist Church in Frankfort, Kansas with the Reverend Orris Kelley officiating.
Herschel Mentgen sang "What a Friend" and "Sweet By and By".
Pallbearers were a nephew and great- Nephews; George and Michael Farrell, Harry and John Meek and George Jr. and Glen Gibson.
Burial was in the family plot in Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
