Grant John Gibson, son of John and Lulu Gibson, a lifelong resident of the Frankfort Community was born July 1, 1907 and passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Kansas on September 4, 1975 at the age of 68 years.
He attended all twelve years at the Frankfort public schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1924. He was a former member of the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department and was engaged in public road work before moving to the present home, where he had been engaged in farming for the past forty-five years.
Grant was a great admirer of God’s creations and outdoor wonders, and enjoyed his work in raising crops and livestock.
He is survived by Glen, Gilbert and Gretchen Gibson of the home; Grover Gibson, Kansas City, Missouri, George Gibson, Topeka, Kansas, Mrs. Geraldine Meeks, Marysville, Kansas and Mrs. Robert (Grace) Jones, Norwalk, Connecticut. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Giles, a sister, Mrs. John (Geneva) Farrell, and two infant sisters, Gail and Garnett.
He was a good neighbor and friend, and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he has touched.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 7, 1975 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Frankfort, Kansas with the Reverend Wayne Feuerbacher officiating.
Mrs. Anna Forgy accompanied Mrs. Helen Shearer, soloist.
Casket bearers were Tracy Stewart, Dale Dunlap, Loren Johnson, Frank Gurtler, George Fisher, and Marvin Jones.
Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas
