John Timothy Gibson, second son of Hester and Timothy Gibson was born in Stockport, Morgan County, Ohio on October 24, 1969 and passed away following a brief illness at his home in Frankfort, Kansas at 3:00 a.m.
on February 9, 1951 at the age of 81 years,
3 months and 15 days.

At the age of 2 years, he came with his parents to Kansas and settled in the Irish Creek neighborhood southeast of Frankfort where he grew to manhood.

On February 24, 1897 he was united in marriage to Miss Lulu Lefler and to this union twelve children were born of whom nine survive.

Following their marriage the couple lived for two years in St. Joseph, Missouri after which they farmed near Frankfort, Kansas where Mr. Gibson worked on the street department of the city, and later on the county and township road maintenance.

For the past twenty years he resided at their present farm home adjoining Frank- fort and with Mrs. Gibson celebrated their Golden Anniversary on February 24, 1947.

Mr. Gibson was a lover of the soil, spending most of his time out of doors, enjoying the farming industry and he particularly enjoyed horses and all livestock. He possessed a strong honest upright character and a cheerful personality.

Besides his wife, he is survived by nine children, Mrs.H.L. Meeks, Marysville, Kansas Mrs. Robert C. Jones, Kansas City, Missouri, George Gibson, Frankfort, Kansas, Giles, Glen, Grant, Gilbert, Grover and Gretchen of
The home. Two children Gail and Garnett died in infancy and Mrs. J.E. Farrell passed away in 1941 at the age of 41. He also leaves 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nannie McManis, Bakerfield, California, Mrs. Nellie Myers, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. May Taylor, Manhattan, Kansas; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday from the First Methodist Church in Frankfort with Reverend C.F. Jenkins officiating.

Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
